OVER THE PHONE
Please call 0191 300 9889. All the doctors and nurses work to appointments. Demand for appointments has increased over the years and we are still trying to keep up with the demand and have made major changes to the appointment system to provide a faster and better service. There are 2 types of appointment:
- Routine Appointments - Routine appointments are available and can be pre-booked up to 8 weeks in advance with the doctor or nurse of your choice. These are for non-urgent matters and for patients who prefer to have continuity by seeing the doctor or nurse who has been looking after an on-going problem.
- Rapid Access Appointments - Every day the doctors have appointments that are available on the day. These are both morning and afternoon appointments. You can book one of these appointments by calling us at 7.30am or 8.30am (depending on the day). Please note Rapid Access Appointments are not available online.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. ALL DNAs (Did Not Attend) are recorded manually and electronically as recommended by The Department of Health in order to help us reduce the resources wasted as a result of DNAs. We would appreciate your help with this.
Bridges Medical Practice is committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that best practice is being followed at all times and the safety of everyone is of paramount importance.
All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required.
Wherever possible we would ask you to make this request at the time of booking your appointment so that arrangements can be made and your appointment is not delayed in any way. Where this is not possible we will endeavour to provide a formal chaperone at the time of request. However, occasionally it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.
Your healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations in accordance with our chaperone policy.
If you would like to see a copy of our Chaperone Policy or have any questions or comments regarding this please contact our practice manager
